Your filter pump is the life of your pool; It serves the same purpose your heart does. If all of blood vessels were too small, then it would struggle to keep you healthy.

The same goes for your plumbing! No matter how well your pump works, if your plumbing is improperly sized, your not running at your best.

When it comes to pumps moving water, the added expense of a poorly designed and installed plumbing system comes as a higher electric bill. Monthly.

Reasons YOU MIGHT want to make sure your pump and plumbing system is up to date and running well.

  • You care about your carbon footprint.

  • You have better things to spend your money on than a higher electric bill.

Your filter. There are four styles of filtration media that I cover here. 

  • Sand

  • Cartridge (Pictured)

  • Suction DE (Diatomaceous Earth)

  • Pressure DE (Diatomaceous Earth)

Sand and cartridge are the most common in the Destin, FL area. Each have Pros and Cons.

Reasons to make sure it your pool filter is clean and taken care of.

  • Less strain on your pool pump (less power used)

  • Water clarity increases with a regularly cleaned filter

  • Water loss becomes extreme if gaskets are not maintained (key assembly gasket failure)

Your pool heater is your way of providing an extension to your pool season. Generally there are two types of pool heaters.

  • Gas

  • Solar

Gas is the rapid way to heater water during any part of the season.​

Solar is more cost effective way of heating water, at the cost of a delay in response time.

Here's a formula/ example to see how fast your pool can heat up from point A to point B temperatures.

Your 15,000 gallon pool is 75 degrees and you want it at 85 degrees.

(Gallons*8.33)*(temperature rise)= (BTU's necessary to heat water to desired temperature)

BTU's necessary/ Heater BTU Output= number of hours to heat pool to desired temperature
